Without question, the cellphone has come a long way since the days when its sole function was simply making calls and those features and capabilities are possible because of micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) which are essentially miniaturized mechanical and electro-mechanical devices and structures that are made using the techniques of microfabrication.
