It’s back-to-school time and if you are a college student it’s time to be wary of scams.
As college students begin a new semester, they’re spending money on tuition payments and school supplies, making them the target of a range of schemes.
According to the Better Business Bureau’s most recent Scam Tracker Risk Report, adults ages 18-24 reported the highest median losses – $150 – and many of the scams took place online.
The bureau said that with many colleges considering their COVID-19 policies for school years, scammers will still take advantage of the situation using tactics that have worked in the past.
