Chatham-Kent’s red-hot real estate market continues to set new sales records

Chatham-Kent’s residential real estate market continues to run red-hot with more sales records set in September.

The average selling price soared to a record-high of $463,605 last month, up 46.5 per cent from September 2020, according to the latest monthly statistics from the Chatham-Kent Association of Realtors.

The more comprehensive year-to-date average price was $411,948, up sharply by 35.6 per cent from the first nine months of 2020, added the release.

The dollar value of all home sales in September 2021 also set a new record of $70.5 million, a substantial increase of 61.4 per cent from the same month in 2020.

Another new sales record for September was the 152 units sold through the MLS System of CKAR, which was up 14 sales from September 2020. Home sales were 17.5 per cent above the five-year average and 31.3 per cent above the 10-year…
