Detained pastor in ministry investment scam files CoC for senator
CONTROVERSIAL pastor Joel Apolinario, who is currently in jail for syndicated estafa, filed on Saturday a certificate of candidacy (CoC) for senator, providing a flicker of light to an otherwise anemic second day turnout of filers.
Apolinario, founder of Kapa Community Ministry International (Kapa), filed his CoC through a representative, who said that the pastor’s platform is anchored on helping the poor.
He was arrested in July 2020 in Lingig, Surigao del Sur for syndicated estafa in connection with an alleged investment scam.
Apolnario’s CoC was filed at about 11:30 a.m.
The other filers were presidential wannabe Victoriano Lido from:Lobo Bohol and party list groups APEC, PhilRECA, Recoboda, Abang Lingkod and Ako Padayon.
