Experts warn that scammers are using text messages to impersonate government agencies
Peoria, Illinois (WMBD) — A scammer after pretending that your personal information comes from an Illinois government agency such as the Secretary of State or the Employment Security Agency.
WMBD received multiple calls from viewers who were wary of an increase in fake text.
Peoria’s Better Business Bureau received 943 government fraud complaints this year.
