New technology identifies proteins in the living brain

For the first time, researchers have developed a successful approach to identify proteins in different types of neurons in the brains of living animals.

This new study, led by Northwestern University and the University of Pittsburgh, brainMillions of different proteins. As a component of all cells, including neurons, proteins hold the key to a better understanding of complex brain disorders such as Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease. This can lead to the development of new therapies.
