Scots cops probe £220K online scam in Scottish Borders and urge public to be vigilant

Police in the Scottish Borders are investigating the loss of over £220,000 to scammers as they urge members of the public to be vigilant.

Five residents reported the frauds between May 26 and June 9.

Three of the incidents reported to police were investment scams.

Fake online companies took advantage of vulnerable people by claiming they would invest their money.
