TSA introduces new technology at Plattsburgh Airport

Some new technology at the Plattsburgh International Airport is looking to help improve security with its Credential Authentication Technology (CAT).It works by people handing their ID to a Transportation Security Administration officer who then inserts into a CAT unit. It then enlarges your ID for the officer to ensure it is real and valid. Once the ID has been authenticated, people will be asked to lower their masks to verify their face matches their ID before being allowed to pass. Lisa Farbstein, a spokesperson for the TSA, said this measure allows them to evolve their security to keep everyone safe. “It’s that much more accurate and that’s what we’re looking for is enhanced security at all times,” Farbstein said. “So, we evolve as the threat evolves and we’re doing everything we can to make sure it’s as safe as possible.”CAT is currently already in use for passengers…
